    Rosses Point

Rosses Point is a charming coastal village less than 20 minutes drive from Mount Edward Lodge. The village is home to the Country Sligo Golf Club, Sligo Yacht Club and Sligo Lifeboat Station.

Rosses Point has a beautiful Green Coast Award winning Blue Flag Beach that has panoramic views of Knocknarea, Sligo Bay, Benbulben and the Atlantic Ocean.

Some of the landmarks Rosses Point is best known for include The Metal Man, The Blackrock Lighthouse and the Lady Waiting on the Shore.

The village was the home of W.B. & Jacks Yeats Uncle Henry Middleton. Both brothers spent many summers in the area inspiring both their poetry and painting.

    Rosses Point Sea Shanty Festival

In summer the village plays host to the Rosses Point Sea Shanty Festival, which supports the work of the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution). The festival draws an international line up of performers with groups travelling from all over the world to perform.
